15 Things to Do on Your Family Spring Bucket List

March 18, 2016 By: Wendy2 Comments

If you don’t already know, let me tell you again, I love Spring. Fresh morning dew glistening on sharp blades of grass, carpet beetles perched on my window sill and the familiar smell of the rain-soaked soil.

You know what else I love? Bucket lists. We do a bucket list of activities for each season to help us get some focus – and even appreciation – for the all the different things we can do as a family. Here’s the 411 on our Family Spring bucket list this year.

The kids compiled the list and the very first thing they put was to Celebrate the Resurrection. I think they just might have their priorities in order. 🙂

  1. Celebrate Jesus’s resurrection
  2. Plant a garden  – mostly herbs for cooking and medicinal use
  3. Go on an Easter egg hunt – of course!
  4. Fly kites
  5. Donate Easter candy
  6. Learn to swim…again (it’s a work in progress y’all)
  7. Celebrate our wedding anniversary
  8. Celebrate Mother’s Day
  9. Jump in a puddle
  10. Make mud pies – YES! Recovering Type A me, am seriously considering mud pies
  11. Adore the Cherry Blossoms – the DC Area is populated by these Asian adoptees
  12. Study bugs – the kids will study, I’ll get my bug spray!
  13. Make cookies
  14. Make Easter bun – a traditional Jamaican Easter pastry (here’s an online recipe)
  15. Have Easter family dinner

Spring Bucket List 2016

FREE Easy-Peazy Resource

You can get this perfectly FREE editable bucket list from our friends over at the Homeschool Share Blog. It will only take you a few minutes to type in all the adventures of the season and print! I place it in a clear page protector and we post it on one of our kitchen wall.  The kids use a dry erase marker to check ’em off as they get done.

Have Fun

The only down-side to Spring are the allergies, (sad face), that have made friends with my hubby and my eldest son. Maybe it’s the same at your house too, but whatever you do this Spring, allergies or not  – have fun!!! Get out and feel the sun warm your skin after the long, perhaps dreary winter. Make a bucket list with your kiddos and see what ideas are on their little hearts.

Need some ideas for activities throughout the Washington DC Metro area? No problem! Hop over to Moms With Tots, she’s done all the work for you already with the 411 on events for kids in the area.

Our other bucket lists:

  • Spring 2015

What are y’all doing for Spring? Have any ideas to share?

If you enjoyed this post, please share with your friends. Thanks!

    Looks like a totally fun bucket list. I remember studying bugs as a little girl. Beetles are my favorite. ?That Easter bun sounds yummy, too. ? So far this Spring, we’ve:
    -Planted an herb garden (2 types of basil and fennel). It’s coming along pretty good.
    -Visited Clearwater Nature Center about 5 times already. My little sidekick seems to love that place.
    Other plans include:
    -Making bird feeders;
    -Visiting family in Florida;
    -Touring a zoo; and
    -Taking a trip to Oxon Hill Farm.

    Chanda,
    It sounds like your Spring is off to a great start! How blessed your “sidekick” is to have you as a mom. 🙂 Love it. I’ve got to go check out Oxon Hill Farm soon.
